Chapter 0 - Prologue

2/14/10 - Written By Rossfort Crossbow

"That sounds like a neat Idea."

Patrick reclined his seat back a couple clicks, politely making sure he wasn't encroaching on Ross' legroom. "Mike would get a kick out of it too, I'm sure." He fiddled with the knob on the radio, leaned back and began to rest his eyelids. "Nothing like riding shotgun and the blues."

Mike wasn't in the van; nor Stephen. The trip to Frederick Maryland would be a two caravan ordeal. People everywhere were breaking out of their shells in protest of the unrelenting winter, and Holy Ghost Tent Revival was no exception. It was nearly the end of February and the band had been home since the start of Twenty Ten. They had been recording a new full length album and playing shows on the weekends. Great shows too! Local, and with friends. They were greeted warmly in Asheville. Twice. And in new venues! Sol Driven Train and The Grey Eagle put Holy Ghost in front of their biggest Asheville crowd yet. Not long after, they got together with Now You See Them at UNC Asheville and had a flashlight party with all their friends. Let's just say those things are a good idea.

And let us not forget about the adventures with their long lost sister band: And The Moneynotes. The Scrantonian brigade of spiritual doppelgangers and soul-mates came down and graced the southeast with several much needed shows. Raleigh, Bristol, Charlotte and Greensboro were all laid to waste... in a good way. Seperation anxiety developed between the groups before they even parted ways, but there was relief coming. That actually brought them to where they were now.

The band was northbound.

A busy schedule lay ahead of them. They would go to The Mercury Lounge, in the great city of New York, where they would be joined by NYC natives: The Woes and The Defibrillators. They would move south to Scranton and be rejoined with The Moneynotes at the Backyard Ale House. They'd double back to Brooklyn. to play with Julia Haltigan & the Hooligans at The Union Hall. Pitston, PA would soon follow. So too Sommerville, MA; Montpelier VT; and Burlington VT. They looked down at their schedule in awe.

The band had been up north a few times before. It was their most familiar territory aside from home: the southeast. They had friends waiting for them with homey places to stay. They secretly hoped, as they always did, that those places would be stocked with hot food and cold beer. The mystery of not knowing, though, can be a surprisingly driving force. They were excited, to say the least, but they needed a way to make sure it was really memorable this time around.

Ross had been brainstorming ways to chronicle the experience. How could they document their adventures and promote future endeavors while providing something that was stimulating rather than informative to the point of boredom? "If only someone was writing a novel about our travels. Something exciting and compelling, but informative too, with each chapter posted in a timely fashion like a blog," he thought.

"That sounds like a neat Idea," Patrick noted, somewhat lazily.

Ross was taken aback but tried not to act surprised. He thought he had just thought his thought. No, he knew he had only thought it, but that didn't stop Patrick from responding to it anyway. He looked up and kicked his legs out of the way, barely dodging Patrick's reclining passenger seat.

"Mike would get a kick out of it too, I'm sure."

Mike would love the idea, Ross thought. In fact, they must have had the thought at the same time because Ross thought it right before PJ said it. He knew he would be volunteering himself for the duty of putting everything together since he was the most computer savvy, but Mike would love to help.

Everyone would be needing a little help.
